Follow these instructions, use good judgment and enjoy your lawn for years to come.

LAWN INSTRUCTIONS

Whether sodding a new yard or seeding/overseeding your existing lawn nothing is more important than watering on a regular basis.

• New seedlings must stay moist throughout the day
• Water three times a day for three to for weeks
• Pay close attention for any dry spots or puddling

BARE SPOTS

Bare spots are not uncommon in newly seeded lawns.

If you experience Bare Spots larger than one square foot, additional seed may be needed.

For spots smaller than one square foot, watering and fertilizing the area will achieve expected results quicker than applying new seed.

FERTILIZATION

New lawn seedlings need necessary nutrients for optimal growth. Applications of starter fertilizer, applied every three to four weeks after installation or seeding are essential to the growth and health of your lawn.

After the growing season, it is important to continue a regular fertilizer, crabgrass, and weed control program to achieve the best results.

If you need help, we can create a Lawn Fertilizer Program formulated to help you establish your new lawn. Contact us for a free quote.

MOWING

Mowing heights will vary depending on the grass type you have chosen for your lawn.

For newly seeded lawns, allow the grassroots system four to six weeks to establish before initial mowing is key to proper growth development.

As your lawn becomes established mow regularly at recommended heights. Cutting your grass shorter than recommended heights will damage your lawn..

Maintaining a thicker grass will help with weed prevention in your lawn.

WEED CONTROL

Weeds in your lawn are inevitable, but most weeds are easily controlled. The best way to keep weeds from competing in your lawn is to mow.

Once your lawn has matured, it can withstand a weed control application

PLANT & TREE WATERING

Watering is very important for the livelihood of your perennials, shrubs, and trees especially for the first 2 years while rooting systems are maturing.

Not watering at all or waiting until it’s too late to water, are the number 1 killer of your plants, trees, and shrubbery.
